About Summer Sessions

Summer Sessions first opened in 2013, with Matt Craig at the heart of the store. Kind, caring and always up for a laugh, Matt brings light to those around him and remains an important part of Summer Sessions behind the scenes.

In 2024, Matt stepped away from the day-to-day running of the shop, leaving it in the hands of two people who care deeply about him and the business.

Jaimee has been part of Summer Sessions for 10 years. She lives locally, manages all the buying and is the familiar face you’ll usually find in store. Loyal, determined and incredibly capable, she knows the shop, our customers and our brands inside out.

Sarah—Matt’s sister and Jaimee’s sidekick—is the geek behind the computer, although she is occasionally let loose on the public when needed. Sarah and Jaimee have formed an incredibly strong partnership, united by their determination to make Summer Sessions the best it can be.

Donna and Bella are our amazing mother-and-daughter duo, each working in store one or two days a week. Together, we are a close-knit team who support one another both inside and outside the shop. We aren’t just workmates—we are family.

From our home in Matakana Village, we personally select clothing, surfwear and beach essentials for women, men and kids. Whether you’re a local, heading to Omaha for the weekend or shopping online from elsewhere in New Zealand, you can expect genuine, friendly service from people who truly care.
